Description:
Exclusive Relais & Chateaux Game Lodge seeks a Junior Sous Chef to join their dynamic team in providing a range of services to high profile guests. Five Star Safari Lodge, renowned globally for its diversity and formidable concentration of big game. Intimate and world renowned, offering rare solitude and the ultimate in safari luxury in one of Africa’s finest bushveld experiences. As part of an international hospitality group, joining this establishment will not only build your skills and experience, but also offers room for growth within the lodge and group. Refine your culinary skills whilst catering to the most discerning local and international guests and working under a highly skilled and passionate Head Chef.
The Junior Sous chef will be responsible for preparing hot kitchen a la carte menu items according to the lodge’s high standards of fine dining service, as well as for maintaining the fridges and stores, and interacting with high profile guests. To be considered for this position, you must have at least 4 years of experience in a medium sized, fine dining kitchen. International or Relais & Chateaux experience will be highly beneficial. You must also be in possession of a Professional Cookery qualification from a recognised culinary institution. This lodge is looking for someone with an excellent understanding of kitchen procedure, timing requirements and organisation, as well as an absolute passion for cheffing. Knowledge of the lastest culinary trends will benefit you greatly in this position, as will strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
