I graduated from the University of KwaZulu Natal with a degree in BSc Mechanical engineering in 2017. Since completing my degree, I was employed by Etion Digitise working as a graduate design engineer. I was primarily involved in developing mechanical components constituting railway solutions. Etion Digitise refocused their business strategy. They have shut down their engineering division and the company has become sales orientated as of September 2019. Unfortunately, all the engineers were retrenched. As a result, I was driven to start my own development of a tracking device that can be used by gym-goers to monitor progress and track form while being able to transform the data into useful information such as feedback on form for improvement. This idea is still in the development stage. At Etion, apart from mechanical design, additional experience was developed in the project management field, where I was assigned as project manager after 4 months of working. This required insight into budget control, timeline management and close work with procurement. I was also required to meet and present with stakeholders on project development and business direction. Further detail can be found in my Curriculum Vitae.
