I have been working with occupational health and safety since 2003 and have experienced the evolution of my career. I have been afforded the privilege of working for small and big construction in South Africa though most were head-quartered in Gauteng, amongst which were the “the Big Four” construction companies in South Africa, namely Murray & Roberts, Stefanutti & Stocks, WBHO, and Group Five, the latter being where I had the most exposure to different industries. These include all types of construction, major ones including civil engineering, building and general housing construction, electrical and instrumentation, and mechanical and pipeline construction, I also worked in the petrochemical industry, mining, manufacturing factories, agriculture, education, hospitality, and healthcare. My experience has afforded me exposure to numerous facets of occupational health and safety management including Risk Management, Risk Control, Legal Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Auditing, Construction Site Inspections, Safety Training, Incident Management, and other related stuff.
