The companyobvious dont have a clear strategy on where trey are going. Their retrenchment policy is one that they do not take in consideration of the years of expertise they are letting go. Their share price fell massively and their inconsistency to serve customers at a high standard is a big problem.

"Employment equity "
Added 23 Apr 2015 by a current employee
I was employed by this company between 2002-2005. Whilst the company policy and procedure regarding employment equity was fair and in place in theory I found that senior management were not executing this, were found to be extremely prejudiced and unfair when making appointment. People less qualified and certainly inexperienced where promoted whilst overlooking others because they were non-white. I raised this issue with HR and whilst they acknowledged that they received my email and would review it they never did. This was the major reason I left and would not work again for this organisation. I certainly hope that things have changed over the last decade.

"Afrox as a company"
Added 22 Apr 2015 by a current employee
This company has come from a small beginning to be one of the big three in S.A. in the gas supply to industry. We need to remember any company is about people, a business is only buildings and assets. How people are coached, trained, and the culture within the business is what the future will bring. When big companies staff become inwardly focused they tend to become arrogant and like to tell the customer what they need and seldom listen to the customers needs. A simple way to trend this is on the JSE as to how other see the business and the direction its going. The more successful business are those that have a outward in approach and then use this information to help with the inside out approach. Your customer is the only person who can say how good or bad your service is. Remember we are people and we expect good service, we seldom give credit but always go back to good service as it is a wonderful feeling. Poor service stays with us for a long time and we would go out of our way not to have to deal with poor service, attitude or behavior that the customer does not like. Looking forward to be successful business need to help grow the economy help build supporting business around them. The minute you drop local and supporting business and import the same products and services you are helping to build another country structure and not your own. All under the pretense of being inwardly focused and forgetting the damaged done to local infra structure, again this is about people and how they are treated. A company needs to help build the countries infra structure as this will create opportunity and you then become outwardly focused as you have your own country men and women at hart. (Teach a man to fish and he will be able to support himself and others. Give him a fish and he can only live on your generosity). How you treat people and your own country men is how you will be the go to business or not.

"Afrox review"
Added 22 Apr 2015 by a current employee
The 21 years I worked at Afrox were amongst the most challenging and enjoyable years in my employment experience. The opportunities offered to me to develop as a person and enhance my skills were greatly appreciated. Not one request to attend a training course in my field of specialization was rejected.Initially Afrox had a great "family" spirit but since Linde took over that has disappeared as is indicated by the number of senior staff members and experienced engineers who have left the Company. The fact that the Medical Aid was changed to Discovery has been a big disappointment and a heavy financial burden for a pensioner - my wife's chronic medication (R1300/month) is no longer covered and generally the benefits are not as good as we had experienced before the change - a BIG zero for this decision!!!!

"Cover Letter"

In my past position with Afrox, I was involved in unloading trucks, stocking shelves, accurately counting inventory and keeping the floor area clean and safe. My work experience includes utilizing industrial forklifts, adhering to safety procedures, securing loads and writing up documentation. On a more personal level I have a proven record of good attendance, being punctual and am willing to work overtime as needed. I am physically fit, possess good hand dexterity and strength, and am able to stand, stoop, move equipment, bend, reach, and lift for prolonged periods of time.
