"Trying Times"

Good company to work for, but it is trying times at the moment. Very difficult to get in to. Things are very uncertain at the moment, but management is making tough decisions . Hoping that the gold price will climb and unnecessary strikes will end.

"noligwa gold plant"
Added 20 Aug 2013 by a current employee
I have worked at this plant. It is a one man show, one person run the whole plant. If you are not in his good books - sorry. If you are black, there are positions you will only dream of. Getting trained to your aspired route is difficult. Their own values are the opposite to their daily practices, but their training is very good. Afrikaans is still dominant and the colour of your skin do the talking.

"Growth and Development"
Added 16 Aug 2013 by a current employee
The company offers no opportunity for growth. No matter how educated one is, opportunity is given to certain individuals (who are often uneducated). In this company Afrikaans is the main medium of communication, so if you are not good at the language, chances of recognition and promotion are not there. There is also unequal pay for doing similar work. I wouldn't recommend the company to young professionals who seek growth, especially because of the language barrier.

"kopanang mine"

I have been in this company for years. What annoys me most is the company's ignorance towards educated individuals. So many people are highly educated, but the company is not interested on education. Even with a degree, they will always want one to be a rock driller.
Best companies to work for in the Mining & metals sector.
