Barloworld Logistics - DTS is really a wonderful division within the BWL family of companies. It has so much potential to become the employer of choice, however, a lot of work is required before it will get to enjoy such a prestigious status. The disciplines need to be raised to a professional level and management need to live up to the company values by creating an environment conducive to a healthy and determined workforce. Company politics will be around for evermore and that is with any company, however management still need to conduct and carry themselves in such a way that they command respect and trust. It is my hope that someday soon, directors at senior level realise the need to address these issues.

Barloworld Logistics - Dedicated Transport Services, formally known as DTS. In the early years it was the company to work for, the very nature of the company inspired pride, passion, dedication and commitment. Sadly, since the late 2000's it has progressively spiraled downwards in relation to ethics, people and fair play to such an extent that I could no longer stomach the behavior. Based on my own ethics and moral code, I decided to get out. Senior management has lost focus and direction, people are now expendable commodities, whereas the company professes its motto to be 'people first.' Management makes a mockery of the company's code of conduct, blatantly contradicting the very code that they enforce on staff in the lower ranks. There exists the sanctified inner circle of a select few, who are protected, despite the unethical and callous practices. Decisions made by these individuals are self preserving and self serving. Such behavior has resulted in rather low staff moral to such an extent that bar the select few. There are actually no happy people in this company. I sincerely hope that the board of directors and the CEO open their eyes and smell the coffee before it is too late, because this is no longer a company of choice to work for.

The company was established twelve years ago. Up until 2007, it was a wonderful company to work for, but there have been a lot of changes lately. There is a lot of favouritism, nepotism and unethical behaviour by certain people who get away with it as they get protected. New people employed from other companies by persons who currently work for the company, and avoid employing the current employees.
