"Friday Drinks at Office Bar"

I am a former employee of BDO. This is what the typical duties of a Supervisor at BDO is: Firstly, it is required of you to manage the audit teams on units in different industries. Thereafter, you have to report to the directors and shareholders all your findings after conducting an audit. You are also required to compile financial statements and handling client queries. Reviewing work of team members is another duty under you job description as supervisor. Sometimes the budget given for certain tasks are unrealistic. I like that we get drinks from the bar at the office every Friday though.

"Depends"

Client base fairly broad with a good mix across size and industry, though biased towards smaller owner-managed firms, which limits employee desirability on the market. Organisation size not too big, which theoretically should afford visibility for star performers, however advantage not capitalised on effectively. Organisation has not been able or willing to engage sufficiently and effectively with transformation challenges. It has morphed into an enclave for non-transformation. They believe but are not yet. Overall if you are of the wrong language or colour do not bother joining.

Working there was not the happiest time for me, but I made a promise not to say anything bad about the company, so I will leave it there. Besides, there's different leadership there now, so things may have changed.

"BDO South Africa"

Working at BDO gives you a space to meet new people and a great learning experience. You have to travel to different clients throughout the country and audit financial statements. The job requires you to apply your mind in different circumstances and always be prepared for the worst. The salary is reasonable, but job security is at an all-time low.
Best companies to work for in the Accounting sector.
