Blue Bulls Rugby Union

The Blue Bulls Rugby Union is the official governing body for the rugby union in Tswane. It was established in 1938 as the Northern Transvaal Rugby Union. In 1997, it took on the name Blue Bulls Rugby Union. Vodacom Blue Bulls are the union’s representative team. The sponsors include Tsogo Sun, SAIL, AFGRI, Isuzu, Huawei, Vodacom, PVM, AVIS, to name a few. In 2003, BBRU celebrated 75 years of independance. We are also the home of amateur rugby in the Union, our duties include all amateur rugby such as, club rugby, school rugby, Bulletjie Rugby; We also manage Rugby development training and education, namely: IRB Coaching, IRB Refereeing, IRB Strength and Conditioning, Boksmart, Specialist Courses/Clinics and Bulletjie Training, as well as Coach and Referee Managing. Our mission is to develop and boost the Rugby sport and link the amateur game to the professional game.
