Cell C is South Africa’s third cell network after Vodacom and the MTN Group, and also the first cellular provider to operate a dual band GSM900/1800 MHz data network to its clients, which went live in 2010. They officially launched in 2001 and currently have more than 8-million subscribers across South Africa. Cell C firmly believes in putting the power in the hands of their subscribers and are constantly looking for more exciting, cost-effective and innovative ways to help their subscribers receive the best possible experience and customer service. As they state: They look to the future to bring their subscribers the technology of tomorrow, today. They take pride in the fact that they are the provider of possibilities by constantly pushing the boundaries in order to bring more ‘firsts’ like the dual band date network to the homes of millions of subscribers.

"Cell C not a great place right now"
Added 15 Oct 2013 by a current employee
I worked at Cell C for about eight years and worked under four CEOs at the time. Cell C is a very fun company to work for. As a market challenger, they punch above their weight, therefore very innovative and good at coming up with market disruptive strategies. Despite all the hype the company is battling to be profitable as expenditure exceeds revenue. So under the new CEO, A K-C, the company went on a cost cutting drive and things got so terrible for employees because we felt that he wanted to do everything possible to make employees leave. Working at Cell C was similar to being in prison and very terrible. Many older people have since left and the culture has changed. It is not such a good place to be working right now and I would not recommend it at the moment. Perhaps in a year or so things will normalise.
Best companies to work for in the Telecommunications sector.
