I have never worked for a company as bad as Clearwater BMW in Johannesburg. What atrocious treatment by the family that run this business! They do not follow Basic Conditions of Employment procedures and fire staff without verbal or first written warnings. Sometimes just because they dont 'like' the poor person anymore. They will go directly to a final written warning and the owner states blatantly that he doesn't care. He retrenched about 11 people during 2015 and within 2 weeks had employed new and different staff to replace some of these positions. No training offered or considering of a different position in order to protect loyal staff who were losing their bread and butter. He openly says that the people that work for him mean nothing to him, as long as they perform. He will entice new staff into his dealership with big salary packages, only to reduce these within months. He has more cameras and surveillance equipment than I have ever seen in a business, specifically to track, monitor and catch his staff out. They advertise on the internet that they are a 'family orientated' business. This is so untrue. Favoritism and Racism is everywhere in this company. They are the most unprofessional and calculated group of owners and managers, shouting and screaming at their partners and managers. People live in fear working here, never knowing what changes the next day will bring. The owner has a brother working there, an incompetent person, who pretends to be trustworthy and kind, but spends his time maliciously going after individuals who may have stood up to him, looking to ruin people. I got out of there before this happened to me. Don't work for this dealership, they will surely never survive the professional organisation that BMW SA is.
