First owned by Rembrandt Group Limited of South Africa( Dr Anton Rupert) in the 1940`s.They owned substantial interest in the tobacco, financial, wine, spirit, gold and diamond mining services and luxury goods investments including the investments in Rothmans international that formed Richemont. The company now owns several leading companies globally .Their strengths lies in the luxury goods sector; jewellery, luxury watches and writing instruments. Acquiring 100 per cent of the capital of Varin-Etampage and Varinor SA (VVSA), which manufactures high end stamped exterior mechanisms for the watch and jewellery industry.
