De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate

De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate, located in Stellenbosch, houses an 18 hole championship golf course, the Kleine Zalze award-winning winery, three restaurants, the Kleine Zalze Lodges and the Winelands Golf Lodges. The name of De Zalze originates from early wine farms in the area, however the estate retains an even closer tie with the past with streets and villages named after significant figures from the area. The Estate further respects its heritage through historically conscious architectural guidelines. The Estate, 300 ha, is a working farm comprising of 120 hectares of vineyards, citrus orchards and olive groves. A wetlands area is part of the Estate, which, together with the many dams on the property, plays host to a variety of bird and fish species.
