"Dream Job"

Ever since I was younger, I have always had an obsession with aircrafts. When the opportunity to work at Global Load Control came up, I jumped at the chance to work there. As a result of my passion for working with aircrafts, I honestly don't feel like I've worked a day in my life...it is pure enjoyment. Thanks to Global Load Control for the opportunity.

"Maintaining that 'balance'"
Added 30 Sep 2015 by a current employee
It is rather ironic how one of the core focuses of Global Load Control is to maintain balance when this job allow for no balance in your life. I'm currently working at Global Load Control. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my job...it's just that I find myself working ALL THE TIME. There is no rime for anything else. They pay me a wonderful salary and I guess that I'm being compensated well for the amount of I do. It just gets tiring.

GLC does have some of positives but unfortunately the negatives greatly outweigh these positives. From an employee perspective I would NOT recommend GLC as a future employer. Shift times vary from starting at 5 am in the mornings to 4 pm in the afternoons. There is absolutely no consistency with these shifts and you can find yourself working 4 different kind of shifts in just a matter of days. GLC does NOT offer a competitive salary package. Salary packages are aimed at teenagers leaving high school and would like to start earning a small monthly income. GLC offers employees flight benefits, but with a standby status and the amount of full and overbooked flights its definitely not a benefit to consider when seeking employment at GLC. Leave approval is always an issue and getting leave approved on dates you want to use it is very rare.

Most of the benefits of GLC cannot be used and fully appreciated since you have a very low CTC.. GLC has great flight benefits but one can never get any leave approved, get a day off at short notice due to family / personal reasons or just for some extra rest. GLC also offers a low salary package so traveling on these benefits are not a benefit at all to be used when considering employment at GLC. They do offer a Medical Aid contribution. Your contract will be signed with you working shift hours; meaning shifts start anything from 5 in the morning with different start times up and till 4 in the afternoon start time. Also there's nightshifts. It's a 24/ 7 coverage company. Do not expect more than 1 weekend of per 4-5 week cycles.
Best companies to work for in the Airlines / Aviation sector.
