Hisense South Africa

Hisense was founded in 1969 as a small radio factory in China, and has since grown into a multibillion dollar global conglomerate with a workforce of over 60,000 worldwide. Its products are sold in over 130 countries and regions around the world and the South African division was officially established in 1996, 30 years after its founding. Hisense is recognized as a world leading provider of flat panel TVs, household appliances, and mobile communications and is recognized as a top 10 player by large business intelligence and industry research institutions. The South African division is particularly concerned with green products such as energy-saving refrigerators; the latest inverter technology air-conditioners, smart LED & 3D panel TV's and other small home appliances. In 2013 Hisense SA opened a R350-million electronics factory in Atlantis north of Cape Town which will house in excess of 1000 staff.
