Keuhne + Nagel International AG (sometimes spelled Kühne + Nagel) was founded in 1890 in Bremen, Germany by August Kühne and Friedrich Nagel and is an international transportation and logistics corporation based in Schindellegi, Switzerland; however as of 2012 it had more than 1 000 offices in over 100 countries, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Mozambique, and more than 60 0000 employees. It specialises in road and rail solutions, sea freight as well as airfreight forwarding, Information Technology-based logistics (overland), and contract logistics including pharmaceutical logistics and automotive logistics. They also have interests in food service, oil and gas, hotel logistics, marine logistics and retail. In 2010 they were the world’s leading global freight forwarder, accounting for approximately 10% of the world’s air and sea freight logistics by revenue.
