"Brackenfell"

I have never experienced a workplace like that in my life before! I fully agree with your statement, except, this abuse by management started longer than 4 years back. I worked for Man Truck and Bus Brackenfell and was used and abused by management. Employees had nowhere to turn to and they got rid of all the old employees who start asking too many questions regarding certain methods or constant changes. It almost became a joke, that you greet each other on a Friday not knowing who will be there on a Monday. Employees would be fired for some lame excuse, or suddenly placed on retirement with no-one else to perform their work and most highly, a family member or friends of management will fill the position. Employees knew their time was running out when they were “shifted” on to another job position and received no training for it. The pressure was then open in full swing on the poor work from management side, till the employee did not know what hit them, and they just threw in the towel or pen, took their bag and ran for survival. Unfortunately, nobody could proof anything. But we all knew what was happening when they want to get rid of a staff member. One or two internal staff members was used by management to verbally abuse the staff member they want to get rid of, and it became personal and very intense. They will “force” them to leave, by tremendous verbal abusing or an inhuman load of work will be given to them from management to finish within a certain hour of the day or their incentives will be forfeited or some excuse will be found. And then they will be forced to finish the work without overtime even if it is enough work, which will take a month of 3-4 hour overtime per day. I left Man Truck and Bus and lost out financially on monies owned to me, which was never paid. Empty promises of training and overtime was made but was never received and later I was made out to be a liar. Years later, I will still break out in cold sweat when I think back of the abuse I had to go through. Many ex-employees can testify to the same treatment. Regarding the consumers, yes many left that time already while you act on orders from management and when things get warm from the consumer side, you have to carry the blame to cover instructions from management. And most of the time the management will make you out as a liar not just in front of the client but also in front of all other employees, where you will be shouted at. Your self-esteem is minus 1000 after you worked for this company.
