"One Mistake"

I worked at a Markham store in the Western Cape for just over 9 months. I did everything that was asked of me and even went the extra-mile every single time. I loved working as cashier, because I got to meet so many different people on a daily basis and I consider myself a people's person. I also love fashion, so this was the perfect place for me to work at. One day, I simply forgot to scan an item and the customer ended up leaving with the item. The security at the door also failed to realise that there was an unaccounted for item in the bag. The customer ended up returning the item and this is when management found out that I failed to scan the item at the time of purchase. I received an immediate dismissal, which was very disheartening
