independent dealers is what i have worked for and they do not give decent perks or rewards. However compared to franchise dealers, it is the opposite but with this comes more red tape and alot more stress. The products are good and the after sales (depending on the dealership) is what helps build the brand

"Professionalism aint so Professional"

I had a both great and bad times working for the company. I would have continued to work there if I had a supervisor that did not suppress me and made sure that I did not grow professionally. According to company policies as a Graduate Trainee I could attend courses that will ensure both my professional and personal development but my supervisor never allowed me to attend any. MBSA has great policies and no one can deny that but the people that a steering the company do not follow these great policies.

Mercedes Benz is a good place to work for. I worked there for 10 years. I did see lots of changes in the ten years.I have been in and out of Mercedes Benz in the past years working for a Company that supplies Mercedes Benz. Technology Mercedes Benz has advanced. I left Mercedes Benz when Honda stopped in SA.I tried to come back to the Company to work but instead the younger guys were given opportunity. Its a great place to work for and secure.Strikes is the only thing crippling the industry and it affects the worker.I had a post as Team Manager.

"My employent with Mercedes Swartzkop"

My experience with Mercedes was phenominal. I was a team leader for the Insurance Team. I worked closely with the Finance and Road side assistance team. I learnt a lot about the value added products that are sold or offered to Mercedes Benz clients. The broader spectrum. The customer service. The call centre that drives the business and the value of the outcome and service offered to Mercedes Benz customers throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries. The Insurance offered and what it entails. I enjoyed my experience at Mercedes Benz Swartzkop. It was sad when the administration of Mercedes was given to Regent as I then left the company and moved on to another campaign withing Aegis. There were few complaints and if there were they were dealt with in time. Also had a brief overview of the marketing department that marketed the product. What stood out was that the vehicle sells itself according and does not need advertising as the product put out in the market is a good quality product and one of the best vehicles sold.

High profile position are obtained by white and coloured people. There are also team managers that are not educated but becouse of colour they obtain those positions. if you are black there you are more likely not to be offered a better position especially from floor.

There is ample room for growth and opportunities. The work is very interesting and colleagues are friendly. The work environment can be relaxed but sometimes stressful. You can change work stations, rotate, to keep it interesting.

One of the best Companies I've ever had the pleasure of working for. I still miss them. I probably would still be there today had it not been for the fact that my husband (who also worked for them) had to relocate to EL to the plant. I opted for a voluntary retrenchment package to become a full time mom! I have taken away a lot of experience from this company. In-house training was a huge thing with them for their staff. Stress management skills course, leadership orientation course, customer service satisfaction and many more! I still have friends that have been with the Company for over 20 odd years and are still very happy! There was always an opportunity for growth within the Company. They had quarterly assessments and based increases on those assessments! Not sure if they still do this, but we use to assess one another within different departments, how that department handled your query and so on, which was great! The one great thing I learnt through this was we are all customers even amongst colleagues. You rock MBSA. I just wish it wasn't so difficult to get back in!
Best companies to work for in the Automotive sector.
