"Neotel as a company"
Added 29 Apr 2015 by a current employee
Neotel has a fantastic fibre network. I joined Neotel in the early days when they were still known as SNO. The organisation was still in its infant stages, so everyone had to club in and make this business work. It was a fantastic new challenge and an opportunity to grow my expertise and skills. Neotel is definately here to stay and the latest merger with Vodafone can only take this company to a higher level and will definately give Telkom a run for its money. So i think the other competitors should keep a watch full eye of this merger with Vodafone.

"Racism"
Added 29 Apr 2015 by a current employee
Neotel, I can say too much of racism, I would say I was a learner at Neotel which means our manager was not coming where I was coming from. he was supposed to give some tasks to all of us but he was giving those ones who was coming in his side. we were group of five ( three ladies coming in his side and two, it was me and other lady) we didn't go to site up until we moved to other department, even though we are telling our project manager, there was no solution up until we asked to change to other department

"Neotel you don't want to work there....."
Added 29 Apr 2015 by a current employee
Neotel does offer a good salary, but saying that you are never assured of pay when it comes to your performance. The company reserves the right to change their payment policy during anytime of the year. I have seen people losing out on R300k commission due to a policy being changed before end of financial year. Regardless of that the company has not structure nor service. I have been with the company for years and never even once saw any type of process. They screw staff over as well as customers as much as they can just to save the extra penny. Saying that they do spend on unnecessary stuff and they have no marketing budget whatsoever. They change staff jobs with practically no reason or notice. I do not and will not recommend Neotel to any potential person interested in working there. It is a constant battle and if you value your health this is no place for the fainthearted.

"Working for Neotel is discouraging"
Added 15 Oct 2013 by a current employee
Neotel is a very great company with a lot of market potential. People are very friendly and always mean well. Great building, facilities, gym, canteen - everything that employees would want. However, the company is doing everything that we have been taught not to do in business. There is a complete lack of direction, it seems like people do not know what to do. The company is sitting on a huge mine filled with great potential, but it is so inwardly focused and is not aware that the market, clients and competitors are miles ahead. This is very frustrating to employees with skills and knowledge, because they end up operating well below their true potential. There is also an issue of administrative red tape; employees often joke that the 'old home affairs ' would have done things better. I don't think there is any malice intended, but I just think that the culture fit is wrong and the business is being run by people who is not business savvy. Everything is about selling, and they neglect crucial activities such as research, marketing, stakeholder engagement, etc. As a result the company's reputation taking a dip to an all time low and it is not realising the true potential.

"One In Millions "

At first, I felt the welcoming and hospitality from them, it was something that they are just doing, because I'm still new as we all know how we all treat new things. In my own opinion I rate Neotel 9/10 in the way the treat their employees. All in all, it's one excellent/good company in South Africa.

"No processes and lack of vision"
Added 10 Jun 2013 by a current employee
Having worked at Neotel for a year, the company on paper should be doing well with a lot of opportunities to explore, but lack of direction and with no proper processes in place, makes working for Neotel a living nightmare. I could not wait to get a job so I could move as soon as I could. The worst career decision of my life.
Best companies to work for in the Telecommunications sector.
