Phillip Morris

Phillip Morris International’s (PMI) South African division was founded in 2003. They are South Africa’s second largest tobacco company and their products include the Marlboro and Chesterfield brands; since their inception ten years ago they have gone from strength to strength. They also manufacture other tobacco products such as pipe nasal snuff, ‘roll your own’ tobacco and pipe-tobacco, which include the tobacco brands Boxer and Best Blend. They distribute their tobacco products not only nationally but also throughout Africa. PMI also employs an operations centre in Cape Town called Leaf, where they source quality tobacco product and coordinate their buying activities throughout sub-Saharan Africa. PMI also advocates its support for comprehensive regulation of tobacco products based on the principle of harm reduction. They currently employ more than 500 people and continue to grow.
