PwC services focuses on three major areas which are: Assurance provides assurance to clients on their financial performance and operations, as well as helping them improve their external financial reporting and adapting new regulatory requirements. Other services include accounting and regulatory advice, and attest and attest-related services. Tax assists clients in complying with tax-related legislation and regulations. The advice covers all aspects of Southern African tax and incorporates human resource services. Advisory provides advice and assistance based on financial, analytical and business process skills to corporations, government bodies and intermediaries in the implementation of strategies relating to creating/acquiring/financing business, integrating them into current operations, enhancing performance, improving management and control, dealing with crises and restructuring and realising value. The firm’s prestigious global brand is a major draw card for employees. In spite of its massive reach, PwC maintains a personal culture, shaped by four particular behaviours expected of its entire people: share and collaborate; put yourself in each others’ shoes; create value; and build and sustain relationships. This helps the firm fulfill its brand promise of building relationships and creating value.

"Support Staff Excluded"
Added 10 Jun 2015 by a current employee
What I don't like about PwC is that they exclude support staff. The support staff admits to feeling like they're not part of the PwC family, which is rather sad because if support staff feel included, automatically production processes will be enhanced. Other than that one thing, PwC is a good company to work for.

"Mentors only for well performing employees"
Added 01 Jun 2015 by a current employee
The working environment at PwC contributes to your maturing as an individual. The experience you gain there is priceless. However, the culture they got going is a very competitive one and sometimes it’s taken to the extreme. Also, the hours are unbearable and allows for no balance in your life. They only provide mentors to employees who do well, which makes no sense because it is those who don’t perform well who actually need a mentor.

The working environment at PWC is the best. The atmosphere at work is amazing and you get a lot of work done. There is a variety of people from different backgrounds to learn from and we have a great management team. PWC is an awesome company to work for.

"Stressful work"
Added 26 May 2015 by a current employee
The work you’ll be doing at PWC changes. One day you’ll find yourself doing one thing and the next day you’ll be doing something else. The work is stressful most of the time because the company assign small budgets for relatively big projects. Then you also have to deal with demanding clients. At the end of the day, you ask yourself ‘is the salary worth going through all this?

"Having fun while working"
Added 26 May 2015 by a current employee
At PWC, we as employees have fun while working. We love sharing our knowledge and ideas with each other. Most of the employees operate on the bases of the company’s values and policy. The company is very diverse in terms of race and Management have an open-door policy. I enjoy working there.

"They don't care "
Added 26 May 2015 by a current employee
PWC disregard the personal situations of their employees, especially when it involves travelling for work. Even though travelling is a requirement, I feel it is unreasonable to be home only for one week in a period for two months. Especially if you are needed at home too. Of course, every work place has this mutual complaint of favouritism. For example, when they promote employees, it is because of the qualification that they have and not their ability to do the work. And sometimes those without a qualification perform much better than those who have one.

A good place to work. Standards are set high. They are very ethical. Support stuff are not taken care of. They don't feel like part of the family. But all in all its a great place to get exposure.

"PWC Vacation Work"
Added 14 Apr 2015 by a current employee
My "vac work" at PWC taught me that I do not want to major in Accounting. We did an audit of Hulamin in Pietermaritzburg. Everyone was too busy to help or advise me, everyone was rude as well. They gave me an excel document with formulas and asked me to count and recount the numbers to make sure it is right. This was busy work which was very condescending and patronizing. They shouldn't use varsities to recruit talent if they can't nurture or build people. Needless to say I turned down their contract.

"amazing experience "
Added 28 Jan 2015 by a current employee
I worked for PwC in Sunninghill for just over a year. Being 19 years of age, it was truly an amazing experience. From partners to general staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. It was a pity that the appointments department had to close their doors, leading to our retrenchment. It was and still is the most amazing place to work at. There is no company that comes close to PwC. Love, love, love PwC.

"Work under extreme pressure"
Added 03 Sep 2013 by a current employee
The working environment is always positive and co-workers share a common goal. Employees are very professional and productive. Workers have to learn to work under very extreme pressure and have to endure long working hours for (sometimes) very little pay. A typical day at work from 07:30 to 17:00, but sometimes have to work longer hours to get the work done. PwC has a strong work ethic and job culture: workers are friendly and are always willing to help each other. If you work at PwC you can look forward to learning new things every day and honing your skills.

"Student Vacation Work"
Added 21 Aug 2013 by a current employee
I did vac work last year at the Sunninghill office and I really enjoyed it. We were treated very well and enjoyed every minute spent there for that whole week. Since we were only there for a week, we did not interact with a lot of people. People there were friendly and seemed to get along and the peresentations by the different departments/divisions made me want to come do my articles there.

"Support Staff"
Added 07 Aug 2013 by a current employee
I personally enjoy working at PwC. However, they have no rewards or a recognition programme for the support staff that actually keep the divisions running smoothly. Yes, we may not be client facing and bringing in lots of money for the company, but we also play a vital role in the organisation. Will companies be able to manage without PA? I think not. Many PA's are leaving due to us not being rewarded/compensated accordingly.

"Top company!"
Added 18 May 2013 by a current employee
I've been with PwC for more than seven years now and still enjoy being part of this successful company. There's plenty of growth opportunity to build a long-term career. If I had to outline any down-side of working for PwC, it would be the slight lack of Work/Life balance. Other than that, you can't go wrong with a career there. Move to PwC.
