Qantas Airways Limited in Australia’s largest airline, the oldest continuously operated airline in the world and the second largest in the world overall. Qantas (short for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd) carries 18.7% of all passengers and a 65% share of the Australian domestic market. The airline began with carrying one or two passengers in open cockpits. Ir has progressed to the new Airbus A380s flying some 450 people halfway around the world in just one day. Qantas is regarded as one of the world’s leading long distance airline and one of the strongest in Australia. This is because of the people who have created its exciting and productive history- staff, customers and the excellence of their business partners and key suppliers. Another reason why Qantas is at the forefront of the international civil aviation industry, is that they continue to provide outstanding service to their their customers. Qantas, in addition to their core business of transporting passengers and air freight, also operates a number of subsidiaries. The airline also has interests in associated businesses, including in-flight catering, and holiday and travel operations.
