Steiner Hygiene (Pty) Ltd formally known as Steiner Services was officially founded in South Africa in 1958. Since its inception it has grown from a fairly small business hygiene service supplier, owned and controlled by the American Linen Supply Company to an independent self-governing South African brand with approximately 30 hygiene branches serving nationwide. Their services they offer include dust control, deep cleans, washroom, kitchen and other facilities hygiene and cleaning products. They are unique because they offer various value added services in line with their hygiene obligations. These include free trial periods of their services without the obligation to officially sign them on, installed equipment are serviced and maintained by qualified service and installation technicians, they replace, maintain or repair any and all of equipment that malfunctions due to wear and tear, they offer and structure their services according to your needs, on a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly schedule.

I worked for Steiner for a long time. I enjoyed my work and would go back instantly. One person in particular who covered herself, due to her lack of involvement as per her job description, had made sure that I would never be employed by Steiner again. This is sad, as Steiner is a GREAT Company to work for, if your are passionate about your job and truly enjoy what you do. Alan Fainman and Trevor Scruse are always ready with advice on how to solve problems that might be in your way in order for you to be successful in your position. The bad reviews listed can only be, because the positions you were employed in was just not for you.

Been there ten years. Love it. I dont brown nose, i work hard and get rewarded for what i put in. Obviously the two bad reviews are people who did not like to work hard. This page with company details are out of date.

Unfortunately, Steiner Hygiene is extremely racist. Unless you have blonde hair and blue eyes you can never grow your career. Your career will depend on how well you liked by the sales director rather than how hard you work. If you meet the above criteria and brown nose enough you will do fairly well. If you pride yourself in hard work and commitment stay away. The top management does not care about service/sales staff at all. They try and cut commisions, salaries just about anything to not pay you what you deserve. Shocked that a company laced with such ethics is still in existence!

I spent 2 years at Steiner Hygiene. My colleagues was great and the commision potential was awesome. However, company is very reluctant to pay commisions. Always looking for reasons not to. Many racial slurrs from top management and if you not the sales directors blue eyed boy/girl you can forget growing or advancing your career. Steiner is all about who likes you, not how hard you work. They only reward the employees who dont need the money also huge double standards. Favouritism is evident, no procedures or policies in place. The same bunch of people make the over seas incentive every year despite making targets or not!
