The branch I worked for is in Sim Road, Pomona, Kempton Park. The job circumstances was horrible. The HR department would not take the employees side, but mainly the management side. If someone is in a managers position it would be considered a plus point IF they can handle working with people. If you cannot cope with people stay at home. Most of us in the department was treated like children and shouted at in front of colleagues. Getting embarrassed ever day, and when you stand up for yourself you just get shouted at and if you want to take matters further you just get ignored. I work there for a bit under a year and in March 2014 for 3 weeks and resigned after some of the above mentioned happened to me. I was TOLD by HR that I will not receive ANY money for the time I worked during the month. They can stuff the money far up there asses for all I care. I am just so grateful I don't have do go to Thrifty and come home every day crying and hating my life. If management is up to shit the company will go to shit. The staff turnover was horrible. Since I started in March 2013 to April 2014 about 15 people has resigned due to the circumstances and being treated like shit. The salary is also not worth all the tears and doubting in yourself after you are being called stupid. The circumstances to go to the bathroom in is horrible as the cleaning ladies NEVER cleans the bathroom, when they do, they mop up the toilet seat with the DIRTY mop that they just used on the floor. There is NO toilet paper or hand soap, if you want toilet paper you need to bring your own from home. The hygiene in the bathroom's is DISGUSTING. And management has there own bathrooms to use. There was numerous complaints to the Legal Department that was also just ignored. We were told that we need the bathroom clean ourselves. I work there as an Admin Clerk and NOT a cleaning lady. I will NEVER EVER EVER recommend that ANYONE I know work for Dollar Thrifty.
