Umgeni Water is a public body which was established in 1974 to provide water services to a total of six municipalities namely: the eThekwini Metro; Msunduzi Local Municipality and Ugu, Ilembe, Sisonke and uMgungundlovu District Municipalities. They are one of Africa's most successful organisations involved in water management, and they are the largest supplier of bulk potable water in the KwaZulu-Natal Province. Umgeni Water’s primary function is to treat raw water and distribute it in a bulk drinkable form through its infrastructure which has been legislated under the water services act no.108 of 1997. The company currently supplies in excess of 426 million cubic metres of potable water to its six municipal customers. Their vision is to be the leading water utility that enhances value in water services provision. The organisation has two subsidiaries, namely: Msinsi Holdings (Pty) Ltd and Umgeni Water Services (Pty) Ltd.

Accountability for integrity of all stock (Chemicals and foods commodities). Ensure accurate and concise records of stock movements. Perform physical stock counts. Perform cycle counts with weekly and processing stock adjustments. Investigate and resolving stock discrepancies. Claim and return damaged/out of spec stock from suppliers. Accountability for receiving of all stock and generate COA's timeously. Capture receipts on ERP system. Perform stock take preparation monthly. Performing month-end stock variance analysis and reconciliation. Ensure that credit are processed within the required time frame for goods returning from customers. Ensure good housekeeping, packing and product compatibility. Ensure the warehouse facilitates the time-outs and correct distribution of products.
