Bakgat Biltong is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage the company’s financial records, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks POS, along with strong organizational skills to oversee daily transactions, inventory tracking, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:
Record daily transactions, including sales, expenses, and bank deposits in QuickBooks.
Reconcile bank statements, supplier invoices, and cash flow reports.
Track and process supplier payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement.
Maintain petty cash records and reconcile all cash-related transactions.
Monitor and track inventory costs, including stock purchases, production expenses, and losses.

Payroll & Staff Accounts:
Manage staff purchase accounts, ensuring deductions align with payroll schedules.
Process salary advances and maintain accurate records of employee deductions.
Track leave balances and assist with payroll calculations.

Inventory & Cost Management:
Assist in tracking biltong drying losses, packaging losses, and other cost factors.
Work with the production team to ensure accurate stock costing and valuation.
Support weekly stock take reconciliation and investigate discrepancies.

Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
Assist with VAT, tax compliance, and liaise with accountants when necessary.
Maintain organized financial records for audits and management review.

Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks POS.
Strong knowledge of inventory tracking and financial reconciliation.
Experience in retail or food production accounting is a plus.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
