Plant Manager / Chemical Engineer

Location: Saldanha, Western Cape (can be based in Cape Town for the initial 6 months)
Salary: Up to R960k per annum

Opportunity available for an experienced Plant Manager to play a key role in the design, commissioning, and operation of a new Alginate Processing Plant. The successful candidate will provide critical input during the design and construction phases and will take full responsibility for plant operations post-commissioning. Requirements:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Chemical Engineering (Master’s Degree advantageous)
Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) advantageous
Solid experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or plant management
Proven experience in plant commissioning, operations, and ISO9001 implementation
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design and layout of the plant to ensure optimal efficiency.
Oversee the commissioning of the facility, ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and regulatory requirements.
Manage the Environmental Impact Assessment process and ensure alignment with IDZ requirements.
Lead the hiring, training, and development of the operational team.
Take full accountability for production, quality control, maintenance, and safety.
