The core responsibilities of a Company Secretary include ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, maintaining company records, and facilitating communication between the board of directors and shareholders. They play a pivotal role in ensuring that the company adheres to legal obligations and governance standards.

The Companies Act requires that statutory books and records be maintained within the parameters of the law.

My client’s service offering includes:
• Formation of private, public, external, private liability and non-profit companies
• Conversions of close corporations
• Maintenance of statutory records
• Submission of Annual Returns
• Amendments to and registration of statutory details
• Registered Office facility
• Beneficial Ownership registers

In order to be considered, you need to meet the following requirements:
• Degree in Business, law or accounting
• Chartered Secretary (CGISA)
• Knowledge of company law and corporate governance
• Knowledge of Companies Act, Industrial and Commercial law
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• Able to communicate in both English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
• Influence over colleagues at the highest levels, i.e. Directors, Lawyers, Auditors, etc.
• A keen eye for detail
• Capable of processing large amounts of information
• Confidentiality
• Time-management skills
• Extremely organised and diligent
• 5+ relevant experience
