A large multidisciplinary Construction company operating throughout South Africa & Africa is looking for suitably qualified Contracts managers with a solid construction background and stable track record in Roads, Bulk Earthworks, Tailings and Pollution Dams & Pipelines for their Roads, Pipelines and Mining Services division and who are prepared to travel.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the Contracts Management and integration of all physical construction activities on for a Bulk Earthworks, Surface Mining, Infrastructure Development.

• Ability to deal with and manage Subcontractors
• Extensive Technical Knowledge of Civil and building construction
• Ability to manage cost on the site
• Payment Certificates.
• Ability to complete projects in time.
• Read, understand and explain drawing specifications to Foremen.
• Ensure safety compliances to and promote safe working practices.
• Monitor construction activity on site to prescribed quality standards.
• Monitor production and make daily progress reports for submission to Line Management.
• Identify bottlenecks, resolve them and streamline the construction process on site.
• Integrate various resource requirements of production teams on site.
• Monitor, control and improve production and productivity levels on site.
• Conduct production planning and integration meetings on site

Skills, Experience & Education:

BSC, BTech, HND or ND in Civil Engineering
Min 15 years of experience in the Roads, Bulk Earthworks, Dams & Pipelines for mining Infrastructure Development, out of which the last 3-5 years should have functioned in the similar capacity of a medium/ large construction Company (CIDB 8 or 9).
