Summary:

Our client based in Bedfordview are seeking an experienced CORPORATE PORTFOLIO MANAGER (CPM) to sell and promote the company’s short term insurance products (as well as bespoke broker products) and services with an objective of achieving growth through set monthly targets and conversion rates. The CPM must develop and maintain consistent organic growth within the portfolio as well as identify and unlock new business opportunities including books of transfers. The CPM will serve as the main liaison between internal operational staff and the brokers, assisting with any concerns throughout the departments The CPM will concentrates on building supportive relationships with brokers by assisting them in running profitable loss ratios and ensuring efficient and convenient service delivery in line with brand promise. Performance will be measured against sales targets, conversion ratios, overall portfolio performance, new business loss ratios, overall portfolio loss ratios as well as the development and maintaining of professional partnerships. The role will require traveling nationally from time to time and may require the CPM to be away from home for a couple of nights a month.

Minimum Requirements:

• The role will require traveling nationally from time to time. A valid driver’s license is essential
• Grade 12
• Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance – NQF Level 5 or higher (ESSENTIAL)
• Advanced Certificate in Short Term Insurance – NQF 6 (highly advantageous)
• Successfully passed RE 5 (Representative Exam) (ESSENTIAL)
• Provide evidence of being on the FSCA Register (DOFA date) (ESSENTIAL)
• Computer literate – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Work experience on the TIAL Operating System (System A) (highly advantageous)
• Advanced product knowledge and application in respect of all classes of insurance (Personal & Commercial Lines)
• A minimum of 5 years commercial insurance experience (ESSENTIAL)
• A minimum of 5 years related Short-Term Insurance Sales experience working at an Insurer or Risk Carrier (ESSENTIAL)
• Knowledge and understanding of the corporate broking environment, current market trends within the industry, external factors that could impact the business, as well as a sound understanding of competitor product offerings

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Achieve agreed commercial monthly and annual premium sales targets
• Achieve closing rate of 30% on new business quoted per month
• Ensuring profitable new business is written by monitoring that new business loss ratio remains under 60%
• Ensure overall profitability of portfolio by achieving and maintaining an overall loss ratio of below 60%
• Identify and unlock new business opportunities within existing broker base
• Achieve agreed annual book transfer target (personal or commercial transfer business)
• Achieve personal development objectives through an employee development plan (i.e., studies and monthly departmental case study score of 70% minimum)
• Monthly reporting on portfolio’s performance to the respective broker base.
• Ongoing management and discussions of broker performance with brokers
• Communicating any product / process updates with brokers to ensure that they are comfortable in dealing with the company
• Conduct/arrange training for brokers where required
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with brokers, internal staff, fellow colleagues and management.
