Our client in the Telecommunication sector is looking for an Intermediate Cyber Security Defence Specialist to join their team on a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively identifying threats and vulnerabilities, detecting and mitigating cyber events, and managing cybersecurity incident responses to minimize service disruptions and ensure a secure digital future for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the operations of the Cyber Security Defence stakeholders and team.
Implement, upgrade, maintain, and enhance end-to-end security monitoring capabilities.
Manage proactive and reactive security incident processes, including communication and response plans, in a timely manner.
Facilitate the implementation, management, and optimization of cyber defence policies, standards, and procedures.
Ensure adequate CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, resources, and management focus are allocated to address cybersecurity risks.
Drive actions to address MPA risks and findings from internal and external audits and reviews related to security monitoring and incident management.
Enhance the company’s cybersecurity posture through various initiatives, including the development and adherence to Cyber Security Baselines.
Serve as a local cybersecurity ambassador within the Telecommunication market, supporting the Group Cybersecurity mission.
Non-Negotiables
At least 3 years of dedicated security experience in areas such as Incident Management, Intrusion Analysis, Network Troubleshooting, or Reverse Engineering.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in managing and deploying security tools, including forensic tools, security logging systems, and EDR solutions.
Preferably, at least 1 year of experience working in a Telecommunication Cyber Defence team.
Proven expertise in designing, delivering, and supporting Information Security solutions for clients is an added advantage.
Proficiency in administering Microsoft, Linux, or Unix operating systems at an advanced level.
Extensive experience and advanced proficiency in implementing and managing Information Security technologies.
Hands-on experience in utilizing security tools.
Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail and clarity.
Minimum Requirements
Degree: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technology-focused field.
Certification: At least one recognized professional qualification in Information Security, such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
Network Security Expertise: Advanced skills demonstrated through certifications like CCNP or CCIE (Security).
