MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job incumbent will be responsible for the safely carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and installation work when required in line with documented work instructions.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE JOB
In this position, the job incumbent will be part of the Cell House (CH) Engineering team. The CH Engineering team performs the value-add activities of the process to ensure that the production activities in the section continues uninterrupted. The incumbent’s role is a key function to this team, as the person will be responsible to assist in the smooth operation of the CH section with specific attention required on steel structures of conveyor belts, buildings, cell house rail repairs, buffing machine and safety guard repairs.
MMC’s engineering team offers a very dynamic working environment, where the person will be part of the daily excitement of delivering the world’s highest quality EMM to customers all over the world, directly from Mbombela (Nelspruit).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform the job as outlined in the work order and as per the detailed task list.
Complete Work Order on ONKEY with the correct time and all details to the required standard.
Provide feedback and recommendations to the maintenance Supervisor/Foreman on short comings, defects, further maintenance required to restore equipment to original safe operating conditions and on any task where there is a difference between the task instructions and the job requirements.
Request consumables and critical spares required from Supervisor.
Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns.
Conduct 5 minutes risk assessment before proceeding with maintenance activities.
Effectively maintain toolkit and rotable spares.
Complete works order and monitor the efficiency of maintained equipment and machinery.
Capture history & complete the job card to the required standard.
Maintain a clean working environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
N3/ Matric with Maths and Science
1 years’ experience in a mechanical environment - boiler making
Computer Literacy (Basic)

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Driver’s Licence code 8
2 years’ experience in a mechanical environment – boiler making.
