We are seeking a Finance Operations Consultant (6-Month Contract) for our West Rand location.

The Finance Operations Consultant will be part of the financial reporting and consolidations team. The primary responsibilities include ensuring and improving the balance sheet hygiene of operating companies (OpCos) in monthly reporting, assisting with IFRS 9 platform fee calculations (balance sheet and income statement impacts), and ensuring system alignment and data integrity.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Implementation:
Support strategy execution in line with the broader business and functional goals within the area of specialisation.
Prioritise workload, ensuring collaboration with co-workers and other stakeholders to develop and execute implementation plans.
Assist in formulating and implementing Finco’s Finance strategy through financial modelling, analysis, and support.
Operational Delivery:

Assess the hygiene of OpCos’ balance sheets by reviewing monthly data and providing suggestions for improvement.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders regarding platform fees and perform supporting calculations for the balance sheet and income statement.
Ensure system integrity by reviewing and reconciling OpCo data from ERP to Group reporting systems for consistency and accuracy.
Oversee Key Financial Controls in all managed functional areas.
Promote Finance Policies and collaborate with the business to ensure solutions comply with policy constraints.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and laws within the Financial Operations department to improve service delivery efficiency.
Seek opportunities to automate manual processes, implement best practices, and enhance controls.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

Education:

3-year Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accounting
Post-graduate degree (Accounting) and/or equivalent job-related experience
Experience:

4-5 years of experience in Finance Operations/Accounting
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Financial Accounting, Management, and Business Planning within a multinational environment
Strong knowledge of risk, control, and auditing methodologies
3-5 years of experience in a telecommunications environment (preferred)
Experience working across global locations/regions with an understanding of political, social, infrastructure, and integrity challenges
Proven experience in implementing continuous improvements and best practices in finance
Knowledge of finance leading practices and trends with the ability to create practical solutions for complex problems
