Job Description
The client prides itself by being a food safe accredit facility. The Food safety/ Quality Control Manager will be the person responsible for making sure that the facility and the processes of the Pack station are managed and run according to the food safety standards. He/ She will be responsible for the system and make sure that the plant has full Food safety accreditation at all times. Manage the housekeeping of the facility and working with the Department of Food safety and our customers. Making sure that all non-conformances are delt with in the correct manner and customer receive good quality products.
Being responsible for ensuring that the Pack station has the correct Food Safety system in place.
He/She must make sure that all documentation is up to date daily and that all checks and control points documentation is completed correctly.
That the quality checks are done and that the products meet the standard of the Department of Agriculture and fisheries for packing Table Eggs
Check and make sure that the machinery is up to standard and that the products that are produced are the correct format and quality.
He / She must lead the Quality team by ensuring that the team members are trained and qualified to do the work.
He / She will be responsible for the full HR responsibilities for the employees in the quality team.
The Food safety/ Quality Control Manager must ensure that all training for the food safety system is done and that all employees working in the pack station are trained and have good sound knowledge about the food safety system.
Make sure that the facilities Housekeeping is done daily, and that the working procedure have a clean as you go principle in place.
The Food safety/ Quality Control Manager will also be in control of the Egg wash and the high-risk egg pulp and egg processing facility making sure that all work is done according to procedure and that the facility has a high standard of hygiene in place.
The Food safety/ Quality Control Manager will be responsible for buying the cleaning chemicals and also the necessary food Safety PPE. Making sure that these products is managed and handed out properly
Make sure that you meet once a month with the food safety inspector and that the facility is audited once a year for food safety accreditation.
Make sure that the food safety meetings are been held as requested.
Ensuring that all test and trials are done according to the requirements.
Also ensuring that all complaints are delt with in the correct manner and feedback to relevant parties are given.
Always try to improve the facilities Health and Safet and Food safety accreditations.
Making sure that the Food Safety department becomes a asset not a liability
Any other reasonable request that maybe asked from you from time to time.
Qualifications
DOE Senior Matric Certificate or any proven higher form of education passed. Food safety or any related proven training and education.
Min of 2-year work experience in food safety.
Proven system management for at least 1 year
Proven team leader for at least 1 year
Fluently speaking reading and writing English
Must have a vehicle license.
Computer literate /Micro soft Office
Skills
