We are currently in search of a skilled frontend developer to join our Shopify delivery team.

Position Type: Contractor

Requirements:
Personal computer ownership.
Access to high-speed internet (50mb fibre or faster).
Availability: 9 AM – 6 PM SAST, with occasional work aligning with US EST time zone.

Responsibilities:
Lead custom development of new Shopify stores for various brands.
Engage in ongoing development of our proprietary Shopify theme.
Develop custom Shopify themes (HTML/Tailwind CSS/TypeScript/React) using Figma files as blueprints.
Adhere to best practices for performance and maintainability.
Maintain strong communication with our internal delivery team.

Required Technical Skills:
Frontend Development
Writing clear, organized, and maintainable code.
Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript, Vanilla JS, and React JS.
Strong understanding of the Browser / DOM.
Familiarity with server-side rendering vs. client-side rendering (preferred).

HTML
Semantic and well-structured coding.
Knowledge of Accessibility, SEO, and data validation.
Performance optimization understanding.

CSS
Responsive Design.
Proficiency in Tailwind CSS.
Experience with CSS variables.
Design system knowledge (preferred).

Liquid
Proficient in Liquid operators and performance debugging.
Advanced understanding of Shopify's core data models (product, cart, customer, sections, settings).

Additional Knowledge
Experience with Prettier / ESLint / Git.
Familiarity with Shopify CLI.
Browser developer tool proficiency, especially with Chrome.
