Sovereign Foods is seeking to employ a Maintenance Assistant for its maintenance department at the Feedmill in Rocklands, Uitenhage. The incumbent of this position will be required to assist in maintaining the plant and equipment at the Feedmill and the Station. This position carries the TASK grade of T05 and reports to the Senior Artisans.
The successful incumbent of the position should be in possession of a Matric certificate or equivalent and have a technical background. Plant and equipment maintenance experience, preferably in a feed mill would advantageous.

Results Required
• Assist artisans to perform scheduled plant and equipment maintenance;
• Draw and prepare the required spares and equipment according to job cards;
• Perform scheduled maintenance and complete allocated job cards under supervision;
• Attend to breakdowns and after hour call outs under supervision;
• Clean work area, clean and pack tools and return equipment when work is completed;
• Keep workshop clean and tidy and maintain good housekeeping;
• Assist the artisans on projects, repairs and refurbishment work;
• Assist Safety Representatives with their monthly audits in the works areas.
