Platform Supervisor

SALARY

R180 000 – R216 000 per annum

RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources

Ensured that staff are trained and adhere to company policies
Supervising of +-4 – 10 staff
Conduct quarterly performance appraisals with all subordinates.
Ensure that subordinates meet the minimum requirements as specified by the company’s employment policy.

Equipment

Ensure that grinding/mixing equipment is properly used and kept clean
In the event of a breakdown, you are expected to promptly react to reduce unplanned downtime.
Visually inspect all equipment at the start of each shift and report should maintenance be required.

Quality

Ensure that batches are always manufactured as per the bill of materials
Ensure quality checks are conducted
Ensure that the chemicals/ raw materials loaded on the platform are identified
When transferring water or emulsion, ensure that the correct volume has been transferred
Check FOG and sign off with QC Lab Technician before transferring Millbased.
Production Output

As a Working Supervisor (multi-skilled) should be hands-on and ensure that output requirements are met.
Checking picked raw materials against batch card requirements.
Adherence to the sequence and quantities of raw materials as per the batch card.
Ensure that all raw materials are available and picked before the start of the batch.
You are to ensure that all packaging materials are available

Safety

Ensure that you maintain a safe workplace at all times.
Conduct annual risk assessments of all workspaces/equipment in your area.
Ensure that your subordinates are supplied/using the correct PPE at all times.
Ensure that the chains at the loading areas are kept closed at all times (except when loading material on the platform)

Stocktake

Ensure that stocktake preparation is completed before stocktake
Adhere to stocktake deadlines.
Verification of the variances must be complete by the close of business on the day of stock take.
Explain any variances from stock take figures.

Housekeeping

Ensure that your designated area is kept neat at all times.
All products must be identified and kept in their place.
Keep water usage for washing down the platform to a minimum. Avoid any foreign objects on the platform and operators to take care of their PPE.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric with Mathematics and English is a must!
Minimum 3 – 5 years of supervisor/paint manufacturing experience
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Own transport is essential
Good communication both verbal and written skills is essential
Must be self-driven with good management skills
Flexible to work the night shift when and if required.
