Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC surface grinding machines to grind metal or non-metallic workpieces.
Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine grinding operations.
Monitor machine operation and adjust settings to ensure precision and quality standards.
Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with specifications.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC grinding equipment.
Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications & Skills:
Experience operating CNC surface grinders or similar machining equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality control procedures.
Basic knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing or production facility with exposure to noise, dust, and machine operation.
Standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights may be required.
Safety gear (gloves, goggles, ear protection) may be necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent (Technical or vocational training is a plus).
1-3 years of experience operating CNC surface grinders or other machining equipment.
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC surface grinding machines.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Basic knowledge of CNC programming, G-code, and machine setup (preferred but not required).
Understanding of grinding wheel selection, dressing, and maintenance.
Ability to perform quality control checks and ensure accuracy in machining.

Soft Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Capability to lift, move, and position heavy materials (as required).
Comfortable working in a production environment with noise, dust, and machinery.

Package & Remuneration
Contract : 3 Months
Salary: R60 per hour
