A large multidisciplinary Construction company operating throughout Europe is looking for suitably qualified Project Director - Building particularly Data Centres for a projects in Groening, Holland and who is prepared to travel when necessary.
Package & Remuneration
€80,000.00 - € 105,000.00 dependant on experience plus an allowance up to € 28,000.00 with 3 flights back home a year.

Duties & Responsibilities

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Contract/Project Oversight & Delivery
1. Develop and implement professional Contract management through oversight and guidance of Project Managers to ensure appropriate, effective and efficient management of:
• Contract planning and site establishment
• Continuous production/productivity improvement
• Programme attainment and progress recording and reporting
• Appropriate levels of contractual /commercial correctness
• Profitability targets and the achievement thereof
• Total quality management
• Safety and environmental management and compliance
2. Create an appropriate management forum for the management of a contract inclusive of but not limited to:
• Setting up and chairing a Project kick-off meeting
• Regularly attending site meetings
3.Provide direction to Contracts Managers in respect of the construction programme
4.Undertake continuous and impartial reviews of contract delivery against contract and company expectations and correct and improve performance where necessary providing relevant information to the Managing Director
5.Prepare the P & G budgets for selected tenders and ensure adequate workloads for all teams.
6.Prepare the tender Construction programme
7.Oversee the management of the selection and appointment of Sub-contractors ensuring BBBEEE requirements are achieved
8.Oversee the management of selection and procurement of labour and plant
Client Liaison & Relationship Management
1.Manage, develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and professional teams ensuring appropriate levels of satisfaction is maintained to enhance likelihood of future opportunities
2.Build and promote the company, its values and its brand.
Risk Management
1.Identify and evaluate risks in his/her operating environment and implement measures to manage and control these risks especially but not limited to risks related to contractual matters to ensure contractual protection for SBA.
• Report on the identified risks and risk management strategies
STAFF MANAGEMENT & PLANNING
• Guide, lead, and direct subordinate staff so that they are able to achieve the objectives set for them as well as understand and align with the strategic direction and goals of the parent company
• Monitor and manage performance of subordinate staff in compliance with the Performance Management policy and processes
• Coach, mentor and develop staff as appropriate to improve performance
• Practice sound labour (IR) relations within the approved legislation and conditions of service with regard to staff
• Ensure consistent implementation and compliance of subordinate staff and staff on site to company policies, procedures and practices
• Maintain a critical mass of staff ensuring effective staff retention
• Establish a positive work context for subordinate staff
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Qualification
• BSc or NDip (Civil Eng/Building/ Construction Management)
Essential Experience
• At least ten years relevant experience in respect of managing construction projects and commercial developments of which at least five years has been in a senior management capacity with emphasis being placed on construction and contract management; financial management, risk management, business strategy, commercial and legal management; operational planning and implementation and staff management
