Senior Contracts Manager - Roads & Township Infrastructure.

This Western Cape based construction company is a BEE Level 1, CIDB Grade 9CE and 9GB construction group that undertakes civil and building construction contracts. They offer clients turnkey, tailor-made project solutions in all types residential, industrial, and civil engineering infrastructure.

They are looking for a Snr Contracts Manager - Roads & Township Infrastructure with 15 years minimum post qualification experience in the above and must have a Professional Registration with either ECSA or SACPCMP in an appropriate category.

A postgraduate or additional management qualification such as CMP attendance would be beneficial

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Management of a number of active construction projects.
2. Full responsibility for all production & labour matters, financial aspects, occupational health and safety and technical problem solving.
3. Responsible for client relations as well as all correspondence and attendance of site meetings.
4. Manage leadership personnel
5. Coordinate resources for projects with the central resource pool of the organisation
6. Contractual management of projects under control and Interaction with the commercial department of commercial and contractual matters.

• Construction Foremen and Surveyors

Desired Experience & Qualification

• B.Eng Civil Engineering
• B.Tech Civil Engineering
• B.Tech or Higher National Diploma - Construction
Management
• B.Sc Construction Management

Professional Registration with either ECSA or SACPCMP in an appropriate category.

A postgraduate or additional management qualification such as CMP attendance would be beneficial
Must have Minimum 15 years post qualification relevant experience as well as the following:
• Vehicle Licence
• Knowledge of site costing and financial
management systems.
• Knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office
suite, CCS and Scheduling software
• Able to travel to sites and spend time on site per
the requirements of each project.

The Incumbent should have knowledge of, and in experience in the following:

1. Specifications and technical detail common with
the construction of Township Infrastructure, Roads
and Bulk Earthworks
2. In depth knowledge of standard forms of contract
used in the industry
3. Knowledge of the productive application of
common plant and equipment common in the
construction of Township Infrastructure, Roads and
Bulk Earthworks
4. Working with communities and community leaders
to inform and facilitate the progress of
construction projects.
5. Supporting and growing subordinates in their roles
6. Knowing the regional construction industry, clients
and consultants active in the area.
7. Able to communicate well in English and Afrikaans
8. Labour legislation in relation to the specific project
environment
