Responsible for equipment maintenance tasks such as managing and installing custom upgrades, replacing cables, components and accessories; maintaining records and drawing schematics of the center to detail what equipment is installed.
Plan for capacity changes, maintaining corporate databases and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the IJS policies and procedures.
Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the Cluster
Responsible for Cost efficiency, Outage management, Change management and Compliance within Data Centre.
Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
Ensuring all Security policies are being adhered to achieve/maintain compliance
Prepare plans and documents related to data centre expansion or additions (including a hybrid cloud based and on-premises environment)
Provide new data centre construction with the right business requirements and documentation
Assess any current hardware for proper compliance and standards
Oversee any construction for expansions
Evaluate the best practices for design and maintenance
Document budget and cost concerns for maintaining data
Monitor all equipment for security threat
End-user support and mentoring
Assist with the administration of the Network (both LAN and WAN).

Minimum Qualifications
Appropriate qualification in Computer Science, or Information Technology, or Informatics, or Engineering, or Information Systems, or Commerce or other relevant qualification at NQF6

Minimum Experience
7+ years in ICT Industry
5+ years in configuring and maintaining HP server environment
5+ years in the operation and management of network attached storage and fibre interconnects.
4+ years in equipment firmware and operating system upgrades
4+ years in the integration process with cable management, patch panel and preventative maintenance
3+ years in IT Service Management (ITSM) including Change Management, Problem Management
