Overview of role
The primary role of the Senior Financial Accountant is to support the Financial Manager and Chief Financial Officer. Key Objectives are to oversee creation of financial transactions, preparation of financial reports, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, prepare balance reconciliations and GL maintenance. The role assists the Financial manager to do financial analysis.

Key responsibilities
• Month end journal processing and approval of journals processed by the Junior FA /bookkeeper
• Review of all balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the junior FA/bookkeeper
• Monthly allocation and analysis of inter Division/Cost Centre allocations
• Monthly Inter Group Companies Loan account reconciliations
• Monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger accounts to ensure their accuracy
• Allocation and reconciliation of payroll to the general ledger
• Review of Inter account transfers (Funding of bank accounts)
• Maintenance of the fixed assets register and reconciliations
• Preparation of the management pack
• Preparation of the cash flow forecast
• Assist the financial manager with financial planning and forecasting activities
• Preparation of the VAT 201 and EMP 201 and other applicable taxes ( i.e. dividends tax)
• Preparation of the monthly tax journal
• Ensure compliance with accounting processes, procedures and IFRS.
• Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit and assist with yearend reporting.
• Collaborate with cross- functional teams and finance related projects.
• Assist with ad-hoc responsibilities.

Education / Experience
• Tertiary education - B.Com (Accounting) degree with Honours (Articles advantageous)
• 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
• Forex experience is advantageous
• English- fluent
