We're seeking an experienced Efficiency Annalistic Solar Engineer responsible for supporting optimization and enhancements to plant availability, reliability and maintainability. Ensures tasks and activities from planning to implementation are achieved. Additional periodic tasks include drawing up the production rolling forecast, developing O&M plant performance reports, and provision of analytical performance inputs to internal stakeholders. Support with managing and controlling plant performance targets, meeting production budget thresholds and managing various KPIs.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Legal, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Monitor, analyze and report plants’ KPIs trends, concerning production, energy availability/reliability, efficiency and operational costs.
In debt knowledge of the renewable technology (Solar)
Elaborate, evaluate, implement and monitor solutions regarding operational efficiency issues in accordance with the O&M Competence Center (also Global).
Collates data and conducts analysis navigating efficiently through computer applications applying superior innovation and analytical skills.
Capable of delivering professional presentations to senior and top management.
Be the main point of contact for SCADA and data requirements and issues in O&M.
Ability to study and analyze engineering graphs, plant performance data, and energy-related information.
Proactively recognize negative plant equipment trends/behaviors, identify corrective actions.
Report periodically on main causes of plant issues/failures, lost production (MWh) results, and lost revenues (ZAR and Euro).
Develop technical reports and present results to senior management.
Provide support for resolving relevant technical, managerial, and process issues occurring in solar plants and implementing related action plans.
Facilitate performance analysis and discussion and directly manage the relationship with the O&M Competence Center.
Support the implementation/sharing of improvement initiatives and best practices.
Support during the startup of new power plants.
Knowledge of communication protocols.
Knowledge of metering, controlling, GPS, and surveillance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams applications. Any other tools used for plant analysis would be advantageous.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to consult effectively and proactively with internal and external stakeholders to assess their needs and system requirements and deliver to expectations.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders including contractors
Present alternatives and recommendations effectively.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Engineering Diploma/Degree.
Between 2 to 5 years’ experience in O&M and/or renewable energy sector.
Fluent in English.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Knowledge of SCADA design and systems integration.
