SUMMARY

Pure Manganese (Pty) Ltd, based in Nelspruit, is a marketing company dedicated to Manganese Metal Company (Pty) Ltd (MMC) for the sale and marketing of its products.
MMC is the world’s only non-Chinese producer of high-grade electrolytic manganese metal (EMM) and the world’s largest producer of 99.9% (selenium-free) EMM and has been in operation since 1974. MMC has a unique and established global customer base and is a niche supplier of various quality grades of EMM. The products are used in the following industries in countries around the globe:
Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, aluminum, steel, non-ferrous alloys, chemicals and welding consumables.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job incumbent will be rendering customer technical support and market analysis to Pure Manganese (Pty) Ltd related high purity manganese products.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE JOB
In this position and as part of a new, vibrant company, the job incumbent will render expertise in Analysing the complexities of global supply chains and changes in manganese-related commodities markets, including the rapidly growing market for lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles, to maximise sales and selling prices and extend the customer base to potential future clients. Technical customer support includes the review of product specifications, providing test samples, ESG questionnaires, demand forecasts, etc., An interest in the global economy and issues of growth, trade and policy is advantageous. Pure Manganese (Pty) Ltd offers a very dynamic working environment, where the person will be part of the daily excitement of marketing the world’s highest quality EMM and future new products to customers worldwide.

JOB OBJECTIVES
• Collate and analyse market data to provide market intelligence.
• Provide technical support concerning product specifications and customer applications.
• Support activities to improve the ESG performance of the company’s products
• Coordinate projects to improve and/or expand product applications.
• Measure customer satisfaction and track MMC’s competitive position.
• Adherence and compliance to all HSEQ legislation, policy & procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
National Diploma, B-Tech or B. Eng in Chemical/Metallurgical/Industrial or National Diploma, B-Tech or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Metallurgy
Computer literacy at an intermediate level in Excel
Five years technical experience in an industrial processing or research/consulting or financial/commercial sales environment
Customer/ Commercial / Market interaction experience
