We are seeking an experienced Wintel Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring the efficient monitoring, management, and security of Windows and Virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Windows Server OS, PowerShell scripting, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and server/virtualization platform management. This role requires hands-on experience in server configuration, failover clustering, system hardening, and maintaining both production and non-production environments.

As a Wintel Engineer, you will play a key role in the ongoing development and implementation of Windows Server and Virtualization technologies, working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to optimize system performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring & Management:
Oversee the monitoring and management of Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022) and Virtualization platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Conduct regular performance analysis and reporting on the infrastructure under support.

System Security:
Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard the system environment.
Hardening of Windows Server OS and ensuring compliance with security best practices.

Windows Server & Virtualization:
Installation, configuration, and hardening of Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022).
Administer and manage Failover Clustering and other high availability configurations for Windows Server.
Install, configure, and maintain VMware ESXi (7.x, 6.x, 8.0) and Hyper-V environments, including vMotion, HA, DRS, and data store management.
Manage Hyper-V clusters and Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) environments.

PowerShell & Automation:
Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and streamline system management processes.
Implement and maintain automation solutions for system monitoring, updates, and other repetitive tasks.

Server & Virtualization Maintenance:
Manage both production and non-production environments, ensuring systems remain up-to-date and efficiently running.
Manage the configuration of virtual machines, templates, and VMware hosts.
Perform routine patching, updates, and troubleshooting of FTP, antivirus, and other server-related software.

Vendor Management:
Collaborate with third-party vendors for support, maintenance, and escalation management.
Manage the acquisition and implementation of new hardware and software solutions.

Change & Migration Management:
Validate changes on server virtualization/migration platforms, ensuring they align with technical requirements.
Coordinate migration plans, perform roll-back activities, and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
Present technical information to stakeholders, ensuring all changes, upgrades, and issues are clearly communicated.
Advise and guide technical stakeholders regarding platform requirements, configurations, and approaches.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent.
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server and Hyper-V certifications (MCSA/MCSE).
ITIL Foundation or equivalent is a plus.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
5+ year’s strong working experience.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022) and VMware ESXi (7.x, 6.x, 8.0) environments.
Strong experience in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Hands-on experience with Failover Clustering for Windows Server.
Proficiency in Hyper-V installation and management, including SCVMM.
Knowledge of server hardening, security management, and best practices for system security.
Experience in virtualization platform maintenance, including VMware and Hyper-V, in both production and non-production environments.

Experience:
Proven experience in Wintel server management and virtualization administration.
Hands-on experience with system center virtual machine manager and server virtualization migration.
Strong background in third-party vendor management and support collaboration.
