Dear HR team, Please accept the enclosed resume for consideration for the position. My background and skills in Physical Oceanography and coastal engineering will prove to be an effective match for the position requirements. I'm a Lecturer in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Recently, I have started the development of the accurate atmospheric model that can enhance our standing of the microclimate of the Red Sea and Sinai Peninsula. After finishing my PhD in 2017, I have investigated the trends of air temperature and sea surface temperature over the parts of the Red Sea and oil spill simulations in the Gulf of Suez. I'm cooperating with EMODnet to develop an open-access oceanic data portal for the Red Sea. Being dedicated to my research for more than nine years, I have learned a lot of tools and how to use the high-tech instruments found in E-JUST and Tokyo-Tech. My master research was about developing a coupled hydrodynamic water quality for a northern Lake in Egypt using Delft3D. This field validated coupled model was utilized to assess potential climate change impacts in the Lake eco-system. I stay in contact with coastal modelers around the world, and I have developed an extensive professional network including Egyptian and foreign researchers working in coastal management around the world, this would help me a lot in sharing data process and identifying the problems in my future research. During my masters about the coastal zone of the Nile Delta, I have worked on a project named JSPS Mega Delta Project. During my Ph.D., I have worked in the characterization of the oceanic features of the Northern Red Sea. I have dealt with large databases and NetCDF. Also, I have developed a coupled atmospheric-hydrodynamic model for the Gulf of Suez. The developed model has several direct applications such as oil spill simulation and climate change impacts. We are now working on a high-resolution numerical model will be used to simulate the frequent oil spills incidents (short-time scale) and a set of relevant local states forced by atmospheric and oceanic forecasts based on scenarios of 5th IPCC report (long-time scale). This is the first time to use such techniques in the GOS area. The study will include utilizing different atmospheric and oceanic models for enhancing the accuracy of our predictions. After finishing my PhD, I have worked in projects addressing shore stability and coastal protection. We have developed wave and sediment transport model using SWAN. During part time position at Cairo University co-supervising master students to develop new master plans for coastal cities in Egypt, we have got an international prize from Delft University. Thank you for your consideration. I would be grateful for the opportunity to speak with you in person regarding my qualifications for this position; please let me know if I can provide you with any additional information. Sincerely, Ahmed El-Adawy, Ph.D. ****@*****.*** +(***)-***-****
