I have one objective – to add value. As the Head of HR the core of my responsibilities has been hiring, onboarding and training, people-development and performance management. In order for me to successfully execute on my responsibilities I had to understand the company’s vision and mission and have sound knowledge of its workflow and processes. I spent time understanding the role each department played along with its team members and then through personal development plans, established if the right people were in the right positions to help the company achieve its goals and objectives. It is during this process that my passion for business analytics was borne. I quickly realized that one of my key strengths was my ability to analyse and identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in company strategies. My pragmatic, analytical, detail orientated approach allows me to find solutions and interventions to these problem areas to improve and enhance the company’s performance through its human resources, systems and processes. In collaboration with department heads and/or key stakeholders, I created and implemented business development plans to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the company and its people.
