I have graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a BSc Mechanical Engineering with honours. My design project involved the use of drones to combat fires in informal settlements, while my research project involved an investigation into the stability of high cube carrier vehicles in South Africa. In 2017, I won the WEIR Minerals award for best design report, for the design of a mutli - pump housing system for mine water drainage. I have also assisted a lecturer in the design of a horizontal tensile testing machine, where my responsibilities included CAD drawings, general layout design, detailed design of bearing mounts, bearing, motor and gearbox selection, CAD assisted gear analysis and quote comparisons. I have also performed general labour jobs on the Wits Solar Car project and at Dino's Die Pressing Plant (where I assisted in CNC operation and welding). I am proficient in MatLab, Python, C++, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project Manager), ANSYS FEA (Mechanical and Fluent) and Autodesk Inventor. In high school, I achieved an 80% average and four distinctions. I was the captain of the first aid team, editor of the school newspaper, and achieved full colours for academics and drama.
