I completed my audio engineering training at The Academy of Sound Engineering in Johannesburg. After graduating, I was very much involved in the music industry which led to my signing to Universal Music. I was also involved in Mixing and Mastering for local musicians. I spent two years as a freelance engineer working in the Post industry, which included local films, instructional videos and promo material. I started working at a dubbing company and ultimately I was promoted to Media Manager, where I was heavily involved in the final mix (mixing most of the demos for clients and high priority movies, along with mixing for the different series) and also doubled as a dubbing engineer when required. All audio repair was sent to my desk, which included specific repair requests from clients with bad or noisy audio. I am someone who thrives under pressure and I always try to see a few steps ahead to make sure myself and the team is prepared for what’s to come.
