In addition, I am also a registered Candidate Quantity Surveyor (IT7300) with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP). Working as a site Quantity Surveyor in the private sector has afforded me the opportunity to be involved in various projects such as renovations of buildings some of which used traditional procurement system and turnkey projects (Design and build), among others. Consequently, I have the ability to understand and measure drawings of different discipline, material procurement as well as submission of variation rates for new items. This has also intensified my understanding of the requirements of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards, 1977 (Act 103 of 1977) as well as interpretation and/or application of Municipal policies as far as Building control is concerned.
